CLASSIC TOWN HOUSE CAFE

It’s been almost a year now since the ….THE TOWN HOUSE CAFÉ ….is come up in Connaught Place…..amazed to see the footfall…that too on Monday afternoon. C.P.is again become a happening place after a long gap of couple of years as C.P. was under the process of revamping. Town House Café is on the outer circle. It has huge area with different sections and different style of seating with high, low chairs and also very comfy couches. The décor is classy with colonial touch. Wooden curved ceiling looks amazing. Has very well equipped BAR…very, very dim lights with peppy music. We sat on the extreme right side where we could get the Venetian Blinds half open….we prefer bright lights.

GREEN APPLE MARTINI and APPLE BLACK MARTINI….where Apple juice, Black Current and Lime juice were added…..were amazing. RAW PAPAYA SALAD…..with sweet and sour taste and GREEK SALAD…Feta Cheese, cucumber, tomato, red onion rings were good appetizers.

FISH FINGERS WITH TARTER SAUCE……were crisp, CHICKEN SHISHTAOUK….succulent chicken with Lebanese spices were served with Hummus and Pita Bread. MUTTON GALAUTI….just melted in mouth. LEMON GRASS MURG TIKKA and BASIL OLIVE CHICKEN TIKKA….Mediterranean style marinated and cooked in Tandoor were awesome.

THE DE POLO ALA COGNAC, which was suggested by the server Kamesh ….minced chicken marinated overnight and cooked in Cognac Butter Sauce …with great presentation with Lime slices… very well done

CHOCOLATE MOUSSE ….was delicious and not to be missed. RED VELVET CAKE…was a little salty and WALNUT BROWNIE…served warm with chocolate sauce was the ultimate.

Chef Ashish Kumar, GM Rejeev Darvin, Roshan Rana and the server Kamesh were all very courteous and full of enthusiasm, the credit for all this goes to PRIYANK SUKHIJA for taking good care of the team and creating this magical place for diners.

LATITUDE INDULGENCE

Had visited this place long, long back and within five minutes we came out as we found the place dark, dingy with awful interiors. Never cared to go there again. Now when we went there, we found it totally transformed. Earlier it was named SHIPRA HOTEL and now it is MOSAIC HOTEL. SmallHOTEL WITHaround forty five rooms, a restaurant LATITUDE, a LOUNGE and BANQUET HALLS. Location is quite prominent in SECTOR 18, NOIDA, on the main road itself.

LATITUDE…a simply done up with screens around to give privacy with dim lights. Here they serve Buffet as well as Al-e-carte. For Buffet they have Indian, Chinese & Italian. For Al-e-carte they have only North Indian.

Started with SCREWDRIVER…Orange with Vodka and Moito with add-on Cranberry juice. CHALLI AUR MATTER KI SEEKH….mince of corn nimblest and green peas cooked in Tandoor…found it a bit sweet and dry. IDLI KE KEBAB….Idli finished in Tandoor was good with sweet and sour taste. ROTI PE BOTI…..didn’t relish much with roti a bit thick. CHICKEN TIKKA…..All three varients were good….green, red and malai Tikka with succent Chicken and well marinated.

SHAHI PANEER, BUTTER CHICKEN …..were good with mild spices and CHOTE TAMATER KA GOSHT…..made with Cherry tomatoes …..looked and tasted great

For Desserts we tried quite a few from the lavish Buffet spread……KIVI CHEESE SLIVE, BLUE BERRY MOUSSE PASTRY, CHOCOLATE MUD PIE, RED CHERRY SOUFFLE…..all delicious except the GULAB JAMUN which was hard with no taste.

We met Executive Chef Vijayant, Operation Manager Anish and Marketing Manager Aditya….all were very courteous . All the best Team MOSAIC !!!

LUXURIOUS LUTYENS

High-end, Royal, Luxurious, Colonial architectural style, European ambiance with European Cuisine…..this is what LUTYENS COCKTAIL HOUSE is…. Excellent location in JANPATH opposite Le Meridian. Combination of modern and traditional is a tribute to E.L.LUTYENS, the greatest British Architect. Books on Shelves, Mirrors on the wall, artefacts, Lounge with different style of comfortable seating with high chairs and cushy couches….all make it a classy place.

PRIYANK SUKHIJA has again proved it …..what ARISTOTLE said ”We are what we repeatedly do; excellence, then, is not an act but a habit”.

CAPRIOSKA…..cocktail with Vodka, lemon, brown sugar, Strawberry Shake, Mojito with add-ons….Orange, Cranberry juice….all concoctions were just perfect, fresh and refreshing.
Tried MELON SALAD with Feta cheese and CEASAR SALAD….healthy, well made and also nicely presented.

ROASTED CHICKEN PEPRIKA…. chicken roasted with garlic and mayo sauce was juicy and marinated well.
ENGLISH CLASSIC….soft and crispy Fish served with Mayonnaise based fresh Tartar Sauce…..

FOOD SAFARI AT THE PROJECT

As JOHN RUSKIN said “What we think, or what we know, or what we believe is, in the end, of little consequence. The only consequence is what we do “. And again PRIYANK SUKHIJA has done it by opening “The PROJECT”. Just before entering the HKV, opposite the main parking , is the place where one can enjoy the magnificent view from the Glass enclosure , sipping the cocktails, mocktails….with the food ranging from Italian, Conti, North Indian. In the evenings, one can enjoy sitting outdoors as well……greenery all around…very soothing. On top of that once you go around the outside sitting area you can see a herd of deers grazing around.

To start with, it was disappointing to taste the ORANGE & CELERY MARGARITA, may be the Oranges used were not fresh…so had to get it replaced by GREEN APPLE & CINNAMON MARTINI….was good with the aroma of cinnamon and so was the PINK COOLER….with Vodka, Peach & Cranberry juice.

NON VEG PLATTER…Chicken Tikka, Seekh Kebab, stuffed chicken, ..…well done juicy chicken, stuffed chicken , stuffed with minced chicken and mild spices .

MEZZE PLATTER…..served with Cheese Rolls, Pink Beetroot Tzatziki, Moutable, Falafel, Hummus with soft and fluffy Pita Bread. Cheese Rolls were again not good…the covering was hard and the cheese inside was sticky not creamy.

THE CHICKEN & SHRIMP CAJUN FETTUCCINE……was perfect made in creamy Cajun Alfredo Sauce.
MUSHROOM RISSOTTO….was okay but the colour was not appealing.

NUTELLA BANANA PIZZA…..with banana and walnut all over and COCONUT PANACOTTA……delicious desserts….not to be missed !!

I am sure, nobody would like miss to visit this magical place....

GRAB THE GRUB AT GRUB HOUSE

Rajouri Garden is cumming up as a new HUB to unwind and pamper oneself with best of Food, Drinks and Tempering Music . One such place is GRUB HOUSE…is from the famous GOLA GROUP. . It’s a BISTRO-RESTAURANT-LOUNGE, the brainchild of Rajat Kapoor and Mohit Nanda. Both of them are very passionately involved with every detailing, try to give personal attention to the guests whenever possible. They are serving World Cuisine with the best of Drinks from World over along with Hookas & Sheeshas.

Ground floor is the Café, First floor is Restaurant and the Second floor is the Lounge. We sat on the first floor which is brightly , naturally lit with painstakingly done up the pillars with liquor bottles. All in all 100+ cover restaurant with different style of seating on each floor.

BLUE BERRY CAPRIOSKA ….Vodka based cocktail …refreshing with nice colour and COFFEE MARTINI… was distinct, coffee flavoured.

MINI SPRING ROLLS…very crisp from outside and creamy inside with cheese filling and presented well. DILL & CREAM TIKKA…..cream & hung curd marinated with dill herb…was juicy & creamy. CHICKEN CEASAR SALAD…..was lacking the taste. GLASS NOODLES WITH SPROUTS….Glass noodles, sprouts, spring onions, lettuce….very good …sweet & tangy taste. MUTTON BOTI KEBAB…..mutton was well done. FISH WITH PINEAPPLE SALSA….to give a twist to the taste of grilled fish, it was served with pineapple salsa. BUTTER CHICKEN PIZZA…to cater to their guests to their ever demanding Butter Chicken, they have come up with this pizza…real butter chicken taste.

TERIYAKI CHICKEN & COCONUT RISSOTTO……taste was okay, but again I don’t relish too thick rice used for it.

GREEN BUTTER CHICKEN…..Butter Chicken is made with green tomatoes to give it a tangy taste unlike the usual Butter Chicken...a must have.

ORIO CHEESE PIZZA…..delicious….pizza with orio, ice cream and hot chocolate.

With the kind of dedication Rajat and Mohit have....will surely go a long way !!
