For Swadisht food that too, Pure Veg, just head to SWAD Restaurant in Nehru Place.....



SWAD a Pure Veg Restaurant .....As the name goes Swad, the food here is simply swadisht..... frankly speaking, initially we're reluctant to go here,.... never thought that a  Pure Veg Restaurant can be so inviting. Don't have to think twice to go there whenever you are that side of Delhi. Whatever we had, just relished to the core.

Easy to locate at Chiranjiv Tower, Nehru Place. In two floors, ground and first with approx hundred and forty covers. Brightly lit, casual dinning place is serving multicuisine. Their focus is on serving food with fresh ingredients, which you can observe and enjoy once you go there. Welcome drinks, refreshing Aampanna, Jaljeera,.....were served in cute little bottles, quite facinating.


Perfect with sweet and sour,  fresh with taste, aroma and presentation, the LEMON N KAFFIR, GINGER ALE.


GOLGAPPA.....tasty, crisp and the way it was presented was awesome. RAJKACHORI, DIMSUM with lipsmaking Salsa. GALOUTI KEBAB....soft n great.


Surprising VEG FISH CURRY made with Soya, done up in the shape of fish slice, must have. DAL MAKHANI served with RICE N GARLIC NAN. THAI CURRY again wonderful.


JALEBI with RABADI.... generally I don't like JALEBI but here I relished the crisp, thin JALEBI with delicious RABADI.

INDIAN STREET FOOD FEST is beeing celebrated at ASIA ALIVE, Double Tree by Hilton for ten days from 21st Sept to 30th Sept, 2018

INDIAN STREET FOOD FEST .......ten days fest is on from 21st Sept to 30th Sept, 2018.
Ready to eat food on the streets, everywhere, brought on Food Carts, Food Trucks. Generally the lipsmaking food and irresistible, one can have any time of the day, most of the time, it's not hunger, just the look or aroma of the food tempts you to have it, at the same time you just ignore the hygiene part.


Hoteliers are trying their best to bring out the delicacies from the remote areas for the guests here, some  of them, people are forgetting also.

Asia Alive.....has brought this Street Food for the guests where one can indulge oneself without any guilt, as the food is prepared hygienecally with research and trials. The tastes is practically as close to the local delicacies as possible. Every day the menu is changing, from different states of the country.



Yesterday it was PURVANCHAL and SOUTH INDIA Street food day. We had very popular KOTTU PARANTHA, APAAM from South LITTI CHOKHA from Purvanchal. POTOLER DORMA.....Parwal stuffed with Prawn and spices. TAASH KEBAB......is served with Poha, the flattend rice. JHALMURI. EGG RICE & LEMON RICE.

MOONG DAL HALWA & RAW BANANA HALWA.....this I had it for the first time and relished it to the core.

DRUNKART, a multicuisine restaurant at Sector 29, Gurugram with their own Microbrewery, serving best beer using German Grain

Drunkart.....

Sector 29, Gurugram is a hub of eating joints, known to almost everyone in Delhi NCR, be it fine dining, fast food or just Cafe. It  can cater to every strata of people.

Drunkart is a multicuisine restaurant in two floors. Ground floor can accommodate approx hundred and forty people. Basement is basically for live entertainment in the evenings. There is a live band in the evenings as well as live stand up comedy shows. Ground floor is a bit dark with interiors again dark which is not to my liking, but then told by Anurag Chaudhary, who is heading the operations that very soon the renovation work is going to start here, and they will look into it to make the ambiance bright and beautiful.

Restaurant have their own Microbrewery. German Grain is used to make Beer, which is hot selling as one gets the best beer here.




Chef Gopal Singh is one heading the kitchen, has six-seven years of working experience in Taj, Hyatt Delhi......had a refreshing Cocktail, Gimlet and Cosmopolitan. CHICKEN  CAESAR SALAD, STIR FRIED LOTUS ROOTS, CHICKEN TIKKA, GARLIC CHICKEN WITH HUMMUS, GRILLED FISH LEMON BUTTER SAUCE, SPAGHETTI CARBONARA....... enjoyed the meal.




In conversation with Exec Chef Nikhil Rastogi, presently working with Eros, Nehru Place



Some people believe in destiny, and when they sense it the life is taking turn towards it, work it out wholeheartedly to achieve success...... Chef Nikhil Rastogi is one of them who says he had been a Chef as he got interested in cooking while in School days, is very passionate about his job which intern is his hobby too.

His interest in cooking started as he hated to eat the food, he had to heat it up which his mom used to cook in the morning before going for her job, hence he started cooking for himself rather then eating the leftover food.

Not very keen on joining a catering collage as his perception was that he won't be able to make a good career after doing that at that age. So very reluctantly he filled the form for PUSA, Delhi and luckly got the admission too, as was not at all interested to go to any other state to do the course.

After completing the course, he got facinated for food production and joined, Taj Management Trng Program, went to Australia for further studies. Spent two years there and then had to come back to India as his father had expired.

Joined Park, Delhi and worked for one and a half year. Then joined 9X Channel TV and did too hundred Cookery Shows which then aired on Zee Khana Khazana. Worked for restaurant named LAP at PARK Hotel for one year. For two years worked at Airport Catering Company where he was heading thirty two outlets. Continued growing up as a Chef, joined  Radisson Blu Kaushambi as Exec S Chef and then became Exec Chef there.

Now for two years working at Eros, Nehru Place as Exec Chef. Sixteen plus years in the Hospitality Industry and growing day by day, taking up challenges and meeting them enthusiastically, taking the cuisine to next level with a lot of research.

FLAVORS OF YANGTZE.....the food fest with the regional cuisine from China is on for ten days starting from 14th Sept, 2018 at EMPRESS OF CHINA, Eros, Nehru Place



YANGTZE, the longest river flowing across China, and the food from the cities along this river is brought here by the Team Eros at the EMPRESS OF CHINA, Eros, Nehru Place. Exec Chef Nikhil did a thorough research and came out with some great regional dishes.

Chinese food can be healthy as well as light, as one can have it with lots of veggies with steamed, boiled stuff.
This food fest is on for ten days, starting from 14th Sept, 2018. Three different menues  SICHUAN, YUNNAN, HUNAN are there, which will be there on rotation.


QUENCHING CHICKEN....the soya marinated chicken with red chillies was awesome
VEG DUMPLINGS.... nicely presented and tastes good.
VEG SOUP WITH GOJI BERRY..... very light soup
PICKLED CUCUMBER SALAD, MUSHROOM AVOCADO SALAD..... healthy, fresh



JIAN GXI STYLE STEAMED WHOLE FISH WITH VEGES.... making a dish by steaming makes it much healthier as many nutrients can be retained by steaming rather then boiling.
YUNNANI CHICKEN.
CHINESE PICKED PORK.
ASIAN VEGES WITH GLASS NOODLES..... tossed with garlic & wine.
SICHUAN EGGPLANT.....deep fried eggplant tossed with Sichuan sauce.....
TSQ's TOFU STIR FRIED.....along with
VEG LO MEIN and
VEG FRIED RICE.


TANGYUAN..... Sweet rice dumplings
PUMPKIN CAKE..... very painstakingly made this cake , had it for the first time and relished it.

EATERY at FOUR POINTS BY SHERATON, VIZAG is the place to relish delectable delicacies when you are in VIZAG



What a wonderful place....VIZAG, the third cleanest city of India, the beautiful beaches, broad pavements to walk, cycle tracks, safe city to move around and when we had conversations with some people there who are residing there for quite some time, got to know that they are loving to stay there as besides the above all, the local people there are humble and simple.

As we had already heard about the food at FOUR POINTS BY SHERATON is worth trying, so headed to their restaurant EATERY to have first hand experience and then we we're more than delighted to do so. Exec Chef Abhishek Kukreti and GM Vijayan Gangadharan greeted us with warmth.


Had the delicious Local Cuisine of Andhra. BAMBOO CHICKEN or the BONGULU NATU KODI as they call it.... Chicken marinated for six to eight hours with Andhra spices, as per the Chef he believes in experimenting and creating dishes and so he realized that marinating for this much time gives the dish the desired results. Outstanding, Chicken cooked in Chorcoal by putting inside the Bamboo. VANJARAM FISH.....Fresh caught fish made in freshly grounded Andhra spices, was excellent. PRAWNS GHEE ROAST..... perfectly roasted crisp prawns.




NATU KODI KURA....a traditional country Chicken curry served with Rice and Chapattis. A bit spicy yet delicious.


GULABJAMUN dipped in Rabadi was again new to us  as the dessert..... relished it.

Wonderful experience dining at EATERY.

BAJRA KA MAJRA, the Food Fest at Singh Sahib, Eros Nehru Place has started from 1st Sept, 2018 and is on till 9th Sept, 2018



Team Eros is always looking for something interesting for their guests to indulge in......and for this, they keep researching and this time they have come up with superb grain, BAJRA or Millet as the main ingredient for variety of dishes, got surprised to see Starters, Main Course, Dessert all made with Millet and tastes awesome. This Food Fest, BAJRA KA MAJRA has started from 1st Sept.,2018  and is on till 9th Sept, 2018.

BAZRA....has many health benefits. It is rich in Vitamin B, Protein, Fibre also helps in prevention or Cancer, good for heart and is Gluten free too.



Strated with Delicious, crisp BAJRA KI HARYALI TIKKI...... made Millet, Spinach and spices, served with lipsmaking  Green, Red Chutney and Dahi Tadka. AMRITSARI BAJRA KI MACCHI.....Fish coated with crisp millets. TANDOORI BAJRA KA MURG..... Chicken marinated with curd and spices, stuffed with millets and then cooked in Chorcoal Oven, it was mind blowing.

GOSHT BAJRA KA HALEEM....This traditional dish made with bajra, BAJRA KI KHICHDI, BAJRA METHI PURI served with Aloo Bhaji, BAJRA KA PARATHA..... stuffed with Aloo, Gobhi, Onion, Paneer. All dishes were just awesome.


SINDHI BAJRA KA HALWA, BAJRA KI PHIRNI....... mouthwatering

Generally, we never thought about this.....BAJRA, can be included in our daily meal in so many different ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
